Deconstructing: Die Lampe North

Das Zerlegen eines Gegenstands in seine Bestandteile lässt uns besser verstehen, wie dieser Gegenstand funktioniert, zeigt uns sein Wesen, seine Komplexität. Dekonstruktion ist ein Prozess des Erforschens. Die Kollektion North von Vibia ist das Ergebnis der Forschungen, die Arik Levy angestellt hat im Hinblick auf die Elemente, aus denen sich eine Leuchte zusammensetzt.

Lichtquelle und Leuchtenbasis sind räumlich voneinander getrennt. Das traditionelle Konzept von Diffusor und Lampenhalter wird über den Haufen geworfen zu dem Ziel, eine bewegliche Leuchte zu kreieren, die für eine indirekte, sanfte Beleuchtung sorgt, wo immer sie gebraucht wird.

Über die Dekonstruktion der verschiedenen Teile -LED-Lichtquelle, Diffusor, Stab und Basis- konstruiert Levy eine schwebende Lichtinstallation, die auch Varianten als Steh-, Wand- und Deckenleuchte beinhaltet.

Jeder einzelne Teil ist in perfektem Einklang mit seiner Funktion: Leichtigkeit und gleichzeitige Robustheit der Kohlefaser für den Stab und hocheffiziente LED-Technologie für die Lichtquelle, während eine Metallbasis die Leuchte in Boden, Decke oder Wand verankert. Ein skulpturales Gebilde, das sich aus unterschiedlichen Elementen zusammensetzt und so zu einem allesumfassenden Ganzen wird.
