Making of Pin

destacado_making_of_pin_731

When designer Ichiro Iwasaki was commissioned by Vibia to create Pin he was conscious of the vertiginous pace of technological change that characterises modern life, the Pin collection seeks continuity with familiar lighting traditions and the practicalities of daily life but also benefits from the great advances in lighting technology over recent years.

The Pin collection includes table, floor, wall and spot light versions; each combines a slender stem silhouette, adjustable shade and circular base for support.

Pin_06

The simple design language is described by Iwasaki as being like a familiar word, understood by all, a timeless light that is compatible with both traditional and contemporary interior decors.

Pin_07

The LED source is accommodated within a hemispherical shade which can be adjusted via the eponymous pin, or metal rod that can be handled comfortably given that the lighting technology reduces heat emission.
