In a Taipei kitchen, Bohan Design installed the award-winning GUISE pendant. Crafted of precision-crafted crystal and imbedded with a row of recessed LEDs, the light source appears invisible within the glass while the delicately engraved surface radiates a warm glow.

Its presence not only draws an invisible line between the open-plan living room and the dining area, but it creates a subtle layer in space. Guise’s transparent glass serves as an elegant counterpoint to the concrete walls and marble island below it and, at night, the stainless-steel ceiling reflects its ambient light throughout the living space.

In a home in northern Spain, a kitchen design by Santos includes double Skan lamps above the dining table. The minimalist Lievore, Altherr, Molina pendants are marked by a streamlined, saucer-like profile and an elegant interplay of lean lines and gentle curves.

The residence, a combination of classic and contemporary touches, features thick stone walls and wooden beams, which Skan’s sleek metal form beautifully balances. The fixtures cast a broad downlight that defines the dining space, while their matte black finish picks up the palette of the adjacent kitchen island and sideboard.

Another kitchen design by Santos in an airy Spanish apartment includes a pair of Flamingo pendants. The early 20th-century flat exudes a timeless, gracious feel and features a central kitchen opening onto a dining area.

Presiding over the table here are the Antoni Arola pendants, which hover weightlessly like the namesake birds. Its deconstructed silhouette nods to the dimensional look of the wooden ceiling while producing gradations of LED-powered light. The fixtures, elegant and ethereal, add an understated decorative accent in keeping with the space’s subdued tone.

Flamingo also appears in a kitchen designed by Dica in Madrid. The pendant floats above the dining table, its three deconstructed discs matching the room’s modern, geometric silhouettes.

The Arik Levy-designed North hanging lamp brightens another kitchen in Madrid by Dica. A compelling mix of styles and materials, the space mingles intricate carved details and rich wood with crisp lines and metal finishes.

The dining table, extending from the kitchen island, is illuminated by the pendant, its lean profile and black finish echoing the stools below. A dynamic system of adjustable parts, the base, stem and shade are disconnected from one another, casting a focused pool of LED light downwards.

Rounding out the room lighting is Vibia’s Mayfair floor lamp by Diego Fortunato, a modern reimagining of the French bouillotte lamp with a graphic presence.
