Vibia Statement Lighting Illuminates a Rotterdam Office Space

Based in Rotterdam, the Dutch financial firm Bridgevest, now Keylane, occupies a space in a stately 1890s building formerly used as a bank. A 2017 renovation by design team Studio Tomorrow infused its offices with a restrained, contemporary sensibility while retaining original period features.

The designers opted for a pared-down, uncluttered aesthetic that allows the 19th–century architectural elements and sleek décor to stand out in equal measure.

For lighting, they selected Vibia’s LED-powered Wireflow collection by Arik Levy, a modern reimagining of timeless pendants that perfectly suit the space’s past-meets-present mood.

In a lounge area on the ground floor, Wireflow Free-Form is suspended above the low-slung seating.

Its long, lean wires play counterpoint to the blocky furnishings below and the cascade of cables provides a focal point in the open floor plan.

Wireflow Free-Form also takes up position in the kitchen, revealing the myriad looks possible with the customisable fixture.

Running atop the length of the narrow table, its irregular pattern exudes a jaunty, playful attitude while another Free-Form opposite it is arranged in an orderly line to set off the coffee counter.

A trio of Wireflow Lineal pendants is deployed in a private office, the lacquered metal rods recalling a minimalist tapestry overhead. The restrained, two-dimensional silhouette is a study in simplicity that matches the quiet elegance of the room and its spare furnishings.

In addition, Lineal illuminates a small table and built-in seats in an open work area. Its black wires trace an airy outline that allows an unobstructed view through the window, the slender cables echoing the geometric channels adorning the adjacent cabinet.

A grand meeting room painted in subdued peach tones features the Wireflow chandelier. A contemporary take on its traditional namesake, the oversized light makes a dramatic statement over a conference table. The three-dimensional form appears at once present and not, ensuring full visibility of the elaborate ceiling molding and original architecture.
